GOOD WATCH DOG

That would be me, peeps and puppies.
I barks at lots of things...squirrels, birds, blowing leaves.
And one more thing:

EARTHQUAKES.

Late last night, Mama was on the
computer upstairs, dreaming of Etsy things
to buy me for Christmas.
I was all tucked into bed, happily dreaming of cheese.
My crate was covered, it was nice and cozy and dark.
Then I KNEW it was a comin!
So I barked real loud and sharp...."warning, warning, warning!"

Then it came...a rumble, like a big dump truck passing the house.
It shook and shook and shook and the shaking got stronger!
Mama was skeert, kinda.  She also liked it.
Not me!  I doesn't like a 5.6 Richard scale at all!
(And maybe I whined a little bit afterward.)

I tried to warn her again at 3 am when a 4.0 Richard scale hit,
but she stayed in bed...that time she was skeert!
(I don't think I can count on her to save me.)

Good thing she gots a good watch dog like me.
I can let her know when to be skeert.

LOVES,
TOOTIE

You are a good watch dog! Chloe and Zoe have snoozed through all of it. The cats have been in edge though.

Oh, Tootie, you are a special little dog for warning your family about the earthquake! We were really scared here in Tulsa when we realized what was happening, it sounded like a train before we felt the shaking! Hope you get some well deserved rest today!

Smiles,
Carol

Oh heavens, Tootie! I would have been freaking out of my gourd! Good puppy dog. Unbelievably cute puppy dog too. I hope those shakes have all gone away and all is peaceful and calm again.

Oh, Tootie, you are such a good watch dog. I'm so sorry you had to live through an earthquake back there in Oklahoma. You mommy is lucky to have you to look after her. You want to know a secret: All my doggies are much bigger than you and those who have lived through an earthquake were TERRIFIED! So you are a very brave girl.

Tootie. A whole lot of shaking going on is scary. Been there. done that. Such a thing. It should happen to you. You handled it well, sweetie. Your warning gave your momma a heads up. Rest assured Tootie. Your momma has your back. She ain't going to let anything happen to you, earthquake or no earthquake. Keep your guard up, though. I'm glad you and your family is safe. Take care.

Tootie, Our oldest grandson called about 2am Saturday morning to see if we'd felt the first earthquake. I didn't even hear the phone ring. We're pretty sound sleepers and our dogs didn't even notice. But then last night when the second one hit, we'd just gotten into bed. I thought there was a really loud train going by. (We live about a mile or so from the train tracks.) Nope! The dogs went nuts - probably trying to warn us just like you warned your mama - and then my husband said we'd just had another earthquake. He'd experienced them when he was a kid and his family lived in Japan. I've talked to a couple of my friends and they both commented that they felt dizzy just before it hit. Strange, huh? Elliott, Smoke, Dani, Mikey and me would just as soon never experience one of those earthquakes again!

Well done!

Custard knew when there was an earthquake over here - we didn't even feel it but he barked and barked. Later on we was on the news that one had shaken things up 25 miles away!
